About Me

I lived my early life on a small farm in South Dakota where I developed an understanding of the great, wonderful diversity of nature. I enjoy watching animals and birds as they go about their daily tasks. I try to talk with them, as I did as a child. I am astounded by the beauty of flowers, trees and animal life. I am enraptured by the sounds of singing birds, waterfalls, or the sigh of wind through a pine forest. I am humbled at the base of a giant redwood, by the strength of bison and bear, and by the millions of stars in a clear night sky. These are some of the things I try to capture in my photography, succeeding less often than I wish.

I now live in Oklahoma's Green Country, an area of rolling hills, trees and grasslands, large lakes, farms, small towns and fairly nice city (Tulsa). It all makes an interesting place to live and photograph. It is home to an astonishing number of birds and animals, diverse plant-life, and interesting people.

I am an old man, new to photography and enjoy it immensely. Photography helps me see new things; to see old things as I failed to see them before. I sincerely hope that, in my remaining time on our Mother Earth, I can take some photos that make others appreciate her great beauty and take enjoyment from her grandeur.
